Cookie Policy

Last updated: 08.04.2026

On this website, owned by Gat Accommodation, S.L. (hereinafter, “Gat Rooms”, “we”, “us” or “the Controller”), we use cookies and similar technologies in order to ensure the proper functioning of the website, analyse users’ browsing activity, remember their preferences and, where appropriate, display personalised content or advertising.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which types we use, for what purposes, what legal basis legitimises their use, and how you can manage or disable them at any time.

The use of cookies is carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD) and Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI). In addition, the Spanish Data Protection Agency requires that consent be obtained in a valid, informed manner and through a clear action, and that the option to reject cookies be presented as visibly and as easily as the option to accept them.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files or devices for storing and retrieving data that are downloaded onto the user’s terminal equipment when visiting a website. They allow, among other things, the storing or retrieval of information about browsing activity, recognising the user, remembering their preferences or measuring the use of the website.

There may also be similar technologies, such as pixels, SDKs, browser local storage or identifiers, which operate in a similar way to cookies. Whenever this policy refers to “cookies”, it also refers, where appropriate, to such technologies.

2. What types of cookies exist?

Cookies may be classified in different ways:

a) According to the entity managing them

  • First-party cookies: those sent to the user’s device from a device or domain managed by Gat Rooms.
  • Third-party cookies: those sent from a device or domain managed by an entity other than Gat Rooms.

b) According to how long they remain active

  • Session cookies: collect and store data while the user accesses the website and disappear when the browser is closed.
  • Persistent cookies: remain stored on the device for a defined period, which may range from a few minutes to several years.

c) According to their purpose

  • Technical or strictly necessary cookies: allow browsing, use of the website’s basic functionalities, consent management, security, load balancing or access to restricted areas. These cookies do not require consent when they are strictly necessary to provide the service requested by the user or for the technical functioning of the website.
  • Preference or customisation cookies: remember information so that the user can access the service with certain characteristics, such as language or currency. In some cases, they may be considered technical if expressly requested by the user.
  • Analytics or measurement cookies: allow us to quantify the number of users and carry out statistical analysis of how the website is used in order to improve products, services and user experience.
  • Behavioural advertising or marketing cookies: store information on user behaviour obtained through continuous observation of browsing habits in order to develop a specific profile and display personalised advertising.
  • Social media or embedded content cookies: may be installed when the website integrates videos, maps, social buttons or other services provided by third parties.

3. What legal basis allows us to use cookies?

The legal basis depends on the type of cookie:

  • Technical or strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of the technical or functional necessity to provide the service requested by the user.
  • Analytics, non-essential customisation, advertising or non-essential third-party cookies will only be installed if the user has given their prior, free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent through the configuration panel or cookie banner.

Mere browsing, inactivity or the use of pre-ticked boxes do not constitute a valid form of consent. Likewise, the user must be able to reject non-essential cookies as easily as they can accept them.

5. Identification of third parties

When this website uses third-party cookies, Gat Rooms will clearly inform users about:

  • the identity of such third parties,
  • the purposes of the cookies,
  • the possible existence of international data transfers,
  • and, where appropriate, a link to their privacy and cookie policies.

The Spanish Data Protection Agency requires identification of whether cookies are processed only by the website publisher or also by third parties and, in the latter case, identification of such third parties. If the purposes or the third parties involved change, the policy must be updated and the user’s choice must be obtained again.

Indicative wording example if Google Analytics 4 is used:
This website may use web analytics tools provided by Google. In that case, the information generated by the cookies may be processed by Google in accordance with its own terms and policies. If international data transfers occur, these must be covered by a valid mechanism in accordance with the GDPR, and this must be duly reported in the corresponding privacy policy. Users should also review the information provided by such third party.

6. Consent, settings and withdrawal

When first accessing this website, the user will see a cookie panel or banner from which they may:

  • Accept all cookies,
  • Reject all non-essential cookies,
  • or configure their preferences in a granular way.

Consent given may be withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was granted, through the “Cookie settings” or “Manage cookies” link or tool permanently available on the website.

As a general rule, as long as the purposes or the third parties involved do not change, it will not be necessary to request consent again on every visit. However, the Spanish Data Protection Agency recommends periodically reviewing or renewing such choice and requesting it again when relevant changes occur.

7. How can cookies be disabled or deleted through the browser?

Users may allow, block or delete cookies already installed by configuring their browser settings. The way to do this depends on the browser used. The main browsers are:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari

Please note that if certain cookies are blocked or deleted, some website functionalities may not be available or may not function properly.

8. International data transfers

Certain third-party providers may be located outside the European Economic Area or process data from territories outside that area. In such cases, Gat Rooms will seek to ensure that such transfers are covered by a valid mechanism under applicable law, such as an adequacy decision of the European Commission or the appropriate safeguards provided for in the GDPR.

9. Profiling

If behavioural advertising cookies or similar technologies are used, users should be aware that these may involve profiling based on their browsing habits in order to show them personalised content or advertisements. Such cookies will not be installed without prior consent.
